History
Stefan Kanetis, the founder of our company, designed the Hidden Water Pool for his mother Delicia. In the mid 1950's Delicia danced live on the BBC network in England. The dance group was called the "TV Toppers" and Delicia was performing during the very first color broadcast. In 1963 she immigrated to the U.S. and opened a dance studio in New York where she taught ballroom dancing to future stars.
In 2004 Delicia's doctor told her that the years of dancing had not been kind on her body and that she had developed severe arthritis and muscle damage in her lower extremities. He suggested that in order to avoid being confined to a wheelchair she would need to exercise daily in a warm body of water over 92 degrees. Consequently, Delicia could not transition from the floor to her feet, or get in and out of a bathtub without assistance, let alone enter and exit a swimming pool.
While Stefan was over Delicia's house in Escondido, California, for dinner one evening, she shared with him about the doctor's recommendation. Stefan casually told his mom not to worry, that he would build her a patio that would become a pool that she could raise and lower herself up and down at the touch of a button. They joked back and forth about the topic for a few minutes until Delicia looked into Stefan's eyes and said in a stern motherly voice, "Don't you dare".
Well that's all it took for the rebellious son to start the wheels in motion and twenty-four hours later, Stefan had designed the basic concept for the first Hidden Water Pool system. Today, Delicia is doing very well and now this amazing product is available through our growing network of pool builders throughout the world.
